Seven Summers

The latest film collaboration between Saint Etienne and director Paul Kelly premieres at the Barbican Cinema on Tuesday 26th June

In the summer of 2005 director Paul Kelly and Saint Etienne spent a month filming the pre-Olympic Lower Lea Valley, around Stratford and Hackney Wick, for the the drama-documentary ‘What Have You Done Today Mervyn Day’. ‘Seven Summers’ is a short (10 minute) film which revisits the area in 2012 to investigate how wholesale redevelopment has affected local residents and the skyline of East London. Using previously unseen footage of the industrial wasteland on which the Olympic park has been built, as well as new footage of a complex landscape, ‘Seven Summers’ finds an area seemingly caught in a constant state of flux.

Commissioned by and screened as part of Create Arts Festival, the film can be seen for the first time at the Barbican – Cinema One – at 7pm on 26th June. Their will be a Q&A with Bob Stanley and Paul Kelly after the screening.

London Postponed – Rescheduled Date Announced

May 28, 2012

It is with great regret that we’ve made a decision to postpone Saint Etienne’s London Palladium show tonight – Monday 28th May.
The show is rescheduled for Monday 25th June and all tickets for tonight’s show will be valid for the new date.

Sarah has had a throat infection since the start of the UK tour last Tuesday and despite turning in some outstanding performances this week her condition has worsened to the point where she’s finding it tough to sing. We’re hopeful she’ll be well soon, but felt it best to move the show tonight.

Sarah said (in croaky voice) this morning – “I’d really like to thank all the amazing fans who have supported me throughout the tour so far, singing along and willing me along! It’s been absolutely amazing, thankyou so much. I’m looking forward to getting my voice back and seeing everyone in London on the 25th June.”

We’re sorry to spring the news on you so last minute.
With a little luck Sarah will be back on fighting form very soon.
